" Mr. Planket, Assistant-Barrister for Meath, is spoken of; and as his father is Lord Chancellor, all his influence will, of course, be exerted in his frivour : but it is not probable that he will receive the appointment. Mr. Lyle, the Deputy Betnembrancer is also understood to be a candidate ; but his chances of success are doubt'ful. It is said that the Attorney-General will accept the office ; and that Sergeant Curry will be the Salicitor-General,

in room of Mr. Piga, who will then be At This arrange- ment we discredit ; it is not likely that the Attorney-General, who has the prospect of being elevated to the Bench on the very first vacancy. Nvonhl accept a mere Mastership in Chancery. Another rumour has it that Dr. Stock, the Preset t Judge of the Admiralty, will receive the appointment ; which will tints place another vacancy at the disposal of Government. It is idle, how- ever, to speculate upon the matter, as at present nothing definite has been de- termined upon. The Mastership is worth :Maio/. late Irish currency."
