POSTSCRIPT TO THE WEEK'S NEWS.

SPECTATOR OFFICE, SATURDAY, Two O'CLOCK.

THE KING's BIRTII-DAY.—Very extensive preparations are making, when we go to press, for an illumination in honour of the Court celebra- tion of this happy event. A good deal has been said of late, of the intention of Austria, under some musty treaty, to occupy the Novarrais, a territory belonging to the kingdom of Sardinia. An article in the Algemeine Zeitung, dated Vienna, 15th of May, is at some pains to disprove the allegation that Austria has any designs on the integrity of Sardinia. The story, it says, has been got up, not to alarm the people of Piedmont, but to amuse a set of credulous politicians at Paris.
