MAY 25.—This being the first day of Act Term, the Rev. H. I). Harington, MIL Fellow of Exeter College, the Rev. R. Biscoe, M.A. Student of Christ Church, and the Rev. E. Higgins, MA. of Brasennose College, were nominated Masters of tbe School for the year ensuing. At the same time, in full Convocation, an honorary degree was conferred opal." J. D. Gilbert, Esq. Gentleman Commoner of Pembroke College (only sou of D. Gilbert, Esq. M.P. and late President of the Royal Society). Mr. Gilbert was pre- sented to the Vice-Chancellor and Proctors in an appropriate Oration, by F. Jeunc„, Esq. M.A. Fellow and Tutor of Pembroke, and was theteupon admitted by the Vice- Chancellor to the honorary degree of Master of Arts.
