The Battle of the Alma is a good big topic

of public interest ; and Mr. W. Cooke to do it justice, has joined the stage of Astley's with the circle, thus afforckng a double field for glory. The spectacle is excellent of its kind, and was liberally inaugurated by a devotion of the first night's pro- ceeds (amounting to 60/. 10s. 6c1.) to the fund for the relief of the sick and wounded soldiers.
