Through Norway with a Knapsack. By W. Mattieu Williams. (Stanford.)—This

book had a considerable success about twenty years ago. The author now sends out a now edition, in which he has inserted notes describing his experience of the same spots in the course of last summer. It is satisfactory to find that, on the whole, travelling in Nor- way has not become more expensive, perhaps less so, considering the greatly-improved accommodation. The facilities for going to the country are much greater. For Mr. Williams's sake we are sorry that twenty years, which have taught other people much, have not taught him how very ignorant and silly are his remarks about Latin sad Greek. Anyhow, if he dislikes them so much, ha had better steer clear of them altogether, and not invent such monstrous words as "primo- genitors."
