An Artist's Day Book, edited by Thomas Burke (Herbert and

Daniel, 2s. 6d. net), is described as "A Treasury of Good Counsel from the Great Masters in the Arts for their Disciples." First comes "Calling of the Artist " ; then follow three other sections, "The Poet and the Novelist," "The Musician and the Actor," "The Painter and the Sculptor," each aspect of art, thus largely interpreted, being illustrated by well-chosen passages.
