Considerable surprise was excited this morning, by the appearance of

an advertisement stating that the Chilian Dividends, which become due on Monday, would be paid by Messrs. Baring and Co., and no', as had been previously advertised, by the usual agents of that Govern- ment, Messrs. Brown. This change has been rendered necessary by the unfortunate insolvency of the latter firm, which was declared this afternoon. The Bondholders will not, however, be in the slightest de- gree effected by this circumstance, as the whole of the funds of the Chilian Government have been handed over to Messrs. Baring, who will pay the Dividend in due course.
