A piece of Californian gold, after having been exhibited for

its size at San Francisco, and lectured upon in the United States, has found a tem- porary resting-place at the shop of Mr. Limbird, in the Strand. The gold is embedded in the quartz ; and for bulk and value it is unequalled by any single piece which has reached this country. It contains 9 pounds weight of 24 carat gold, and its value is estimated at $420.
