Mceuvres, on the Bapaume-Cambrai road, was retaken by us on

Thursday week, two days after it had been lost to the enemy. When the attaokers entered the place, they were astonished to find a corporal and six men of the 1/5th Battalion Highland Light Infantry still defending their post, which for forty-eight hours bad been in the midst of the enemy. The Seven Men of Mceuvres deserve as much as the Seven against Thebes to have their names recorded. We only know that they are Glasgow Territorials.
