Gd.)—Mr. Newbiggin's essays are worth reading, though one or two—as "The Egotism of Literary Men" and "The Para- phrases "—are very slight. But there is one essay for which we are particularly obliged, and that is "Occasional Poets." These are poets of the "Single-speech" Hamilton kind, geniuses that flower, so to speak, once, and once only, and it is good to be reminded of them.
