The attempt at first proposed to obtain a valuation of property is abandoned. It will he seen that the officers employed will be all under one control, acting upon an uniform system, and ipialified by their previous occupations, or selected for the duty. The returns can be cheeked and corrected; and, as the original returns will be kept, any further conibinaton of particulars may be easily prepared.
