Pants on fire

Sir: Jani Allan's attack on George Carman, QC CA ham that can't be cured', 22 August) was an outrageous outburst of per- sonal spite even by the standards she has now made her own.

Your readers will form their own view of the respective characters and reputations of Ms Allan and Mr Carman. A jury who stud- ied Ms Allan's demeanour and evidence over 13 long days in court came to the unanimous conclusion that she was a liar. In other words, let me remind you: we won; she lost.

Ms Allan's remarks about the judge in the case must be a matter for those respon- sible for the administration of justice. The clear implication that Channel 4 and George Carman came to court with untrue evidence, however, is a disgraceful sugges- tion for which you have no foundation whatsoever and which I flatly reject.
