book, from title to end, of a distinctly 'Arry type.

A title which

is unintelligible except by a long sub-title is a failure. For those people who enjoy the kind of fun which consists in saying in an

infinite variety of vulgar phrase that the travellers were in the habit of swearing on every conceivable occasion, the body of the book will be highly entertaining. For the rest, the entertainment is somewhat sparsely scattered. The illustrations, however, are decidedly good, especially those of birds and beasts. And British Columbia appears to be an inviting place for the sportsman in general, and for the fisherman in particular. The accounts of the charr and trout fishing are enough to make Izaak Walton's mouth water.
