The Gibraltar question

From The Hon. Dr Joseph Garcia Sir: Matthew Parris is wrong in his approach to the Gibraltar question (Mother voice, 15/22 December). The main consideration must surely be that the future of Gibraltar is freely and democratically decided by the Gibraltarians in an exercise of their right to self-determination. There can be nothing more democratic than this. Indeed, there is nothing anachronistic in 30,000 people deciding what they want. What is an anachronism is the Spanish claim itself.
