This misunderstanding has resulted in Mr. Cooper's important Catalogue being in- complete on its publication date, and this I heartily regret. Mr. Cooper has indeed been given all facili- ties for inspection of the Courtauld docu- ments at the Tate and this permission has never been revoked. May I add that I can find no record in the Tate's files of any `written assurance' that. his Catalogue is complete ?
