London as it Is, by JAMES Hoots, M.D., is a

collection of sta- tiitical and other facts, with a running medical and moral com- mentary upon them with regard to the site, atmosphere, and temperature of London, and the habits, amusements, and health of its inhabitants. The subject is not without interest, at least to Cocknies; and Dr. HOGG has treated it amply and pleasantly, but with the one-sidedness and exaggeration characteristic of a young author.
