A BEAstly Journey

Sts,—During the past few weeks various corre- spondents have written to complain of specific in- stances of BEA inefficiency and lack of consideration for passengers. The first was Mr Nigel Lawson. whose experiences on a ghastly journey between Edinburgh and London I can personally confirm, as I was on the same flight: the latest, Mr David Frost. Any other self-respecting organisation, faced with such detailed charges, would by now have had its Chief Public Relations Officer either deny the charges or give some explanation as to why inconvenience was caused. Since BEA has done neither, one is prompted to ask: Does BEA have a Chief Public Relations Officer? What is his name? How much does he get paid? And what does he think he gets paid for? Perhaps you, sir, or he, if he exists, could enlighten us.
