Elementary Lessons in Cape Dutch. By A. Werner and G.

Hunt. (Williams and Norgate. ' is. 6d.)—This is a manual of the " Taal " speech, with rules for its pronunciations. It has not much of a literature, and is more or less in a state of flux. The Dutch spoken in the Assemblies of the extinct Republics was an archaic Dutch. This is the language of common life, and any one who cares to learn it should use this book.
