The following appeared in a second edition of the Morning

Herald today— "On Thursday, the Chamber of Deputies empowered the Minister of Finance to inscribe upon the great book of the Public Debt, and to negotiate with pub- licity and competition, the amount of the rentes necessary to produce a capital of 450,000,000f.

"The National, Commerce, Quotidienne, Echo Francais, Journal du Peuple, and Gazette de France, were seized at the Post-office on Thursday, for having inserted Didier's letter."

The Toulonnais publishes accounts from Algiers of a painful nature. General Bugeaud had caused extreme dissatisfaction in the army ; and the Arabs were daily surprising and cutting in pieces parties or de- tachments of French troops.
