The marvellous subtlety of the Hindu mind could not be

betterr-exemplified in modern times than by the work of Sir Jagadis Chunder Bose. In The .Nervous. Mechanism of Plants (Lotigmans, 16s.) the author-gives us the results of a quarter of a century's experiments, proving that the nervous system of plants has been evolved to a high degree of perfection. While it may he too early, to predict, all, the results of this research there is no doubt that Sir Jagadis has proved once again, and by new methods, the essential unity of all life. This book is too technical for the general public but is of far retelling, importance._ .
