Index to the Times." 1863, By J. Giddings. (William Freeman.)

—The volume for 1862 apparently supplied a public want, as it is now followed by this. The "Index to the Times" bids fair to become an institution. Mr. Giddings has certainly taken great pains to deserve public support. This volume is double the size of the last, and a great quantity of useful information has been collected from various sources. U we turn to Prussia, we find the name of the Sovereign and his ministers; if to Liverpool, the names of the mothbors of Parliament and of the Mayor—given in a parenthesis. Foote like these respecting countries and towns take up little space, and often save the inquirer a world of trouble. Still greater improvements are promised in the index for 1864.
