Royalty

Sir: I am planning a book the sub-title of which will be 'An investigation into royalty as an industry'. It will be about people, world-wide, who have gained fame, fortune, or other advantages from seeking, finding, fighting for, or having bestowed upon them, opportunities to link themselves with monarchy on either ordinary or celebratory occasions. The contractors who organised the building of the pyramids at one end of the time scale, Crawfie's memoirs and manufacturers of souvenir mugs at the other. Any of your readers who have letters or memorabilia relevant to the subject and would allow me to see them would earn my heartfelt thanks. Any written material entrusted to my care would be copied and of course returned immediately. Alan Wykes 382 Tilehurst Road, Reading
