Goyon by the Pope, are the foundation of his reported withdrawal from Rome. M. de Cadore has posted hither bearing this intelligence. It must be admitted that the phrase bears a wide interpretation. The French army of occupation resists all request for hostilities against any Italian troops not trespassing on the immediate vicinity of the capital, as "if any French blood was shed there might be a cry in France for revenge."
