PRISONERS OF WAR.

[To THE EDITOR. or TEM " SPECTATOR: 'J Sta—Referring to Lady Bective's appeal in the Daily Telegraph of the 19th inst., I should like to suggest to the clergy that this is an object to which they might apply the Harvest Thanksgiving offertories. This was done in one of the Chelsea churches last year with a satisfactory result. So far as I am aware, there has never been any flag day or public appeal fir prisoners of war, and them is as general idea that they are looked after by the Government. Such, however, is not the case, the Central Prisoners of War Com- mittee and the private associations having to provide the necessary funds, which are urgently needed. Wo have probably all reed the reports by returned prisoners as to the parcels from home having saved many a man front starvation. It would, I am sure, be a great help if Chnrcla papers of all denominations would kindly copy this letter. The address for Lady Ben-tire's Fund is 53 Gros-
