The Division List shows that thirty-five Liberals voted with the

Government on Thursday night ; among whom were Lord Elcho, Sir Arthur Elton, Mr. W. H. Gregory, Mr. Francis Maguire, Lord Lincoln, Mr. Horsman, Mr. Thomson Hankey, and Mr. George Bowyer. Only two Conservatives voted against the Government—Lord Hotham and Captain Grey. The pure Conservative strength displayed amounted to 256 Members. There were in the House, Speaker and tellers included, 626 Members; the largest muster on record except one ; that when Mr. Abercromby was elected Speaker by 317 to 310.
