international Sport. By Theodore Andrea Cook. (A. Constable and Co.

3s. 6d.)—Part of this volume has been published before, but a considerable portion is new. It is now, in fact, a complete account of the Olympic movement from its start in 1896 down to the present time. (It contains also, we should say, much about ancient athletic contests and Greek life, and the classical associa- tions of the country.) We do not altogether like those inter- national competitions. There were some disagreeable incidents in the Olympics of 1908, possibly due to differences of custom and etiquette. Still, while they are carried out, it is well to have careful and impartial accounts of them.
