The April number of the spirited new quarterly Music and

Letters (G. W. Holt, 6s.) contains a delightful article on " Stanford's Songs " by Mr. H. Plunket Greene, with a repro- duction of Mr. Rothensteln's portrait of the well-known composer. Mr. C. F. Crowder's long article on " Neglected Treasures in Handel's Operas," with illustrations, also deserves careful reading.
