The Skooter

WITH leg outstretched upon the air

fly like horses at the Fair.

I love the sunny, windy day With brown leaves blowing every way ; A voice calls faint and far behind For me to stay, for me to mind.

I do not heed, I do not care, I am a swiftly running hare, I am a sea-gull in the air,

I am .the wind, I cannot stay,

The whirling wind cannot obey, I am the wind, the wind to-day !
