Wild goose

Sir: Richard West (19 March) returns to his old favourite idea that Swedish men and women find each other so unattractive that they fly south like the geese to mate — the women preferably with beach boys in Cyprus.

My own experience seems to verify Mr West's statement. I have been twice in Cyprus and on both occasions I noticed that the Swedish women took no interest in me. However, I seemed to be more attrac- tive to those women on the beach who were of British origin. Having seen Mr West's male compatriots on the same beach I fully understand why.
