Fashion Note

A great many ladies were watching, and some took part in, the fly-casting competitions in the lake at.Burghley. I have regretfully to report that not one of them was wearing either of the two outfits which M. Yves St. Laurent has designed for the female angler. One of these includes brown suede knickerbockers and brown suede waders (ideal for the discarded mistress who, if only she can be induced to enter the Ladies' Pool, will become instantly and irretrievably water- logged). The other features black crocodile waders and a black suede crash-helmet. I don't quite get the idea of the crash-helmet, but I do see that if one end of you is encased in black crocodile skin you can't put a pixie hood on the other end.
