No. 1434: Very small talk

There is to be an Anti-Cliché Campaign, sponsored by Longman's Dictionaries. You are invited to supply a conversation, involving two or more people on a social occasion, which contains an awful lot of cliches (maximum 150 words). Entries to 'Competition No. 1434' by 15 August.
