Considerable alarm was felt in the beginning of the week

by the corn-holders, who apprehended a fall in prices, and forced sales at a re- duction of from 4s. to 5s. a quarter ; but the panic has subsided, as the arrivals of wheat for the Mark Lane Market, both foreign and of home growth, have been small. The average London price for the week is 74. 10d, a quarter ; average of the six weeks, for the country generally, 79s. 8d.; so the duty remains at one shilling per quarter.
