SIR.—You published in your paper from time to time verses written by the late Mr. G. F. Grogan, and when his book, A Drop in Infinity, was published in January, 1915, you had a most appre- ciative criticism of it in your columns. I enclose you a letter which tells how he died. I should like you to know that the last lines he wrote were some you published in your issue of December 9th, 1916. They show clearly the death he would fain die, and also that he was undismayed. and his faith unshaken, in realizing that suffering and death crown so often lives of valour and self-sacrifice.
