The Teaching of the Holy Catholic Church. By Richard Phayre,

M.A. (W. Ridgway.)—Mr. Phayre is a very remarkable writer, for he constructs the longest sentences we have ever met with. Hooker's are really nothing to his. One, if we remember rightly, we noticed to be more than a page in length, and they constantly extend from one paragraph into another. Some, indeed, appear to have no legitimate' ending at all, but stop, out of breath as it were. We have spent much pains in trying to find out the meaning of many of these sentences, but were too dull and slow to obtain a result equivalent to our labour.
