GERMAN RELIEF TO INDIA.

[To THE EDITOR OF THE "SPECTATOR.") Sin,—]" a file of the Times of the year 1814 appear at intervals advertised lists of subscriptions raised in London for the relief of distress in Germany. I have not followed the Fund to its conclusion, but by August it had reached £110,000. I noticed this some months ago when it would have seemed like querulousness to mention it. Now that the Germans are subscribing to relief of distress in India, it is pleasant to think we need have no false shame about accepting their help.—
