"SPECTATOR.") hope that when the war in South Africa is over England will invite a fiiindred of our men to go and see her,

with the horses they rode, to meet an equal number of the Regular Army, and the same number from the contingents of Australia and Canada, in order to show what manner of men we have been sending to fight her battles. They might have friendly contests of skill in running, riding, shooting, swim. ming, cricket, and football; whereby they would not only have a good time in England, but would make friends with their English brothers and sisters, and would see that their Old Mother (God bless her!) is proud of her loyal and vigorous young sons.—I am, Sir, &C.,
