Cammaerts describes very clearly in this pamphlet the successive phases of Belgium's martyrdom under the rule of an enemy who has by turns attempted to cajole and to intimidate her. He says that the German pro-Flemish .agitation has been a complete failure, as the Flemish-speaking Belgians saw through the enemy's intrigue.
