The total number of public petitions presented to the House

of Com- n lop during the present session, to the 10th of February inclusive, was 1,:ssi. Of these, 1,224 were against the repeal of the Corn-laws, with 09,936 signatures; 214 for the repeal of those laws, with 369,857 sigma- tures ; ,,nd in support of the Church of Scotland 40, with 7,2.10 sig- natures.

The petitions for private bills amount to 105. Of these bills, twenty- nine are for railways, twenty-three for roads, seven for harbours, twenty-five for enclosures, eleven for the formation et' joint-stock com- panies, five for canals, nod seven for formation of cemeteries.
