[To the Editor of the Seeclwroa.] Ste,—" Watchman," ever vigilant; informs us that " recent by-election results indicate that the general Socialist advance Las been checked." At the three most recent by-elections— Battersea, Bishop Auckland and Wansbeck, the " turnover " of votes from Conservative to Labour has in each instance exceeded 5,000.
