SIR,—My faith in Miss Whitehorn has been some- what shaken

by her comments on beer-drinking, viz, 'two halves often too much.'

I and my contemporaries, average girls in their early twenties,. drink pints, not halves, and can easily manage four pints in an evening. In fact, I have one friend who can drink six. Nor, I might add, is she a steelworker.
