The Depths of Prosperity. By Phyllis Bottome and Dorothy Thompson.

(Collins. 7s. 6d. net.)—Miss Phyllis Bottome has taken to herself a colleague and transferred the scene of her novel from England to America. It cannot be said that this is a success. We miss the spontaneity of the author's usual writing, and it is difficult to feel much inter- est in the heroine, who is a drug fiend.
