Mistaken identity
Sir: Your contributor Anne McElvoy (`Britain's multi-party system', 26 October) claims to have seen me at the Goldsmith Massenversammlung in Brighton. She may have confused me with one Jeremy Irons, who occasionally acts as my stuntman. I have not personally been to Brighton for this or any other purpose for a long time. As a Dane I found our referendum worth- less as the Danish government simply over- ruled the popular vote! I am not a Mitglied of the Great Jimmy's Volksentschei- dungspartei. I admit I have had worse unfounded accusations levelled against me. But, who knows whether at some future date the European Court will not be hold- ing de-Jimmyfication hearings? Or maybe it will be summary justice like the epuration in France in 1945?
