French for illiterates

From Mr Nicholas Steed Sir: Victoria Kaulback (French with tears', 26 October) must be pretty daft if she feels tied 'like a miserable marriage' to a particular French supermarket because of the difficulty of relearning the order of fruit and vegetables on the weighing scales. Every French supermarket I've ever been to has pictures of the various fruit and veg on its scales, making it easy even for illiterates or non-French-speaking Brits to know which button to push.
