THE NEW IRISH UNIVERSITY.

(To THE EDITOR OF THE SPECTATOR:1 SIR,—In my letter of last week, the sentence printed, "He would not, it is true, give them a share in the glorious traditions of Trinity, but at least he incorporated them in the University," &c., should be, "He could not," &c. I will ask you kindly to correct the passage, as I should be the last person in the world to ascribe want of good-will in this matter to Mr. Gladstone.—
