BROADCASTING AND THE PROMS

Snt,—As stated by " Janus," the failure to broadcast the Promenade Concerts this year is regrettable. However, I feel that it is even more regrettable from a propaganda viewpoint than musicallt While the Nazis are making fantastic claims regarding the condition of London, what better answer could be given than by the periodic broadcasting of these concerts from the Queen's Hall, with theirta houses and enthusiastic applause? They would provide a tonic na only to us at home, but also to our friends and relatives overseas, who appear so anxious about our safety.
