Sir: John Gummer (Divorced from reality', 23 August) writes with all the fervour of a recent convert. The young American woman unfortunately married into the Kennedy dynasty makes it perfectly clear in her recent book that with money and influ- ence one can be married a second time in the Church of Rome, as annulment is just a synonym for divorce.
