Memoirs of an Aristocrat. A raw and peurile attempt to

nar- rate the supposed career of the cadet of a noble Scotch family, from his youth, till, by a series of deaths, he is able to bring his claim to the Peerage before the House of Lords. The author seems to have taken Smor.terr and MARRYAT for his prototypes, but to have imitated nothing more than their mere peculiarities— their warts instead of their features.
