SCOTLAND.

The capital of Scotland shared in the general spirit of festivity abroad on Monday. The ancient Parliament House was made the scene of a banquet, and under its old roof were gathered many of the most distin- guished in politics, literature, arms, and civil life in Edinburgh. Busi- ness had been partially suspended during the day, and there was an illumination at night. In like manner, there were banquets at Aberdeen and Old Aberdeen, a soirée at Glasgow, various rejoicings in other places even so far Nod' as Wick ; a banquet at Balmoral, and bonfires on the mountains.
