We recall the fine tolerance of Dean Stanley, who, on

a certain occasion during the revision of the Bible, summoned the revisers to a joint Communion Service in Westminster Abbey. Several of them were Non- conformists. Attempts were made to stop the service, but at the Abbey Dean Stanley was master in his own house, and he prevailed. Does anyone really pretend that such a service left anything behind it but benefits both to those who took part in it and to the cause of Christianity ?
