to quote, by way of explanation of a not quite obvious phrase, the compiler's sub-title,—" A Collection of Verses from Many Sources for the Great Family of Those who have been, who are, and who may be, Bereaved." First we have a "Prologue," containing poems on the death of the Prince Consort, the Princess Alice, and others; then a number of extracts arranged in four parts,— "Death and Separation," "Paradise—the Intermediate State," "Resurrection—Reunion," "Eternity—God All in AIL" The compiler's work has been done with judgment and taste, and a large range of literature has been utilised for the purpose in view. The pieces must number in all considerably more than a thousand.
